We Stay away from tourist traps
We stayed off the tourist route and avoided the Grand Place, the Atomium, and the statue of the Manneken Pis before departing Brussels for Liège to meet family. We conducted internet research before selecting the four locations listed below. The only way to really experience this pleasure is to travel freely.
The Museum of Musical Instruments is one of the greatest places to see Brussels from above. There is a café on the top floor of the Musical Instrument Museum that offers sweeping city views. The café features a stunning terrace and is elegantly furnished in the modern art deco style, with a focus on geometric lines and basic shapes. Just drink; the cuisine isn’t particularly nice.
There is a lot of Western stuff here. In addition to being a coffee shop, it serves delectable croissants. There is also a furniture workshop, a cheap wooden products store, and a thrift store where you may purchase adorable used clothing. This is the ideal location to wait for the rain to cease, if it does.
Every day, an outdoor market is held in the center square of the well-known Marolles district. This location is ideal for finding unique mementos. I once discovered an old Beatles vinyl record there, which was a rare find. We failed to see the Manneken Pis monument, a must-see for every visitor to Brussels!
Searching
Constructed in the 19th century, the Galerie Brotier for vintage books is quite spectacular. It appears to be a book lover’s paradise on Alibaba. Old comics are among the many rare editions, unique publications, and old books that may be found here.
We spent hours searching the books for the ones we loved that hadn’t been broken. It was a veritable treasure trove of literature. At extremely affordable costs, we have chosen a few books that we read as children but lost as we grew older, such as Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s Vol de Nuit (Night Flight) and Françoise Sagan’s Bonjour tristesse (Goodbye, Sadness).
It was definitely not a waste to spend two days in Belgium’s capital before continuing on to Liège. However, we will definitely return here if provided the opportunity. due to the unknown tales about the comic book industry!
