LIKE A THOUSAND-YEAR LOVER
Anyone who comes there also touches her nipples, both right and left, as if wanting to touch her heart – the eternal lover. Therefore, in the past, every once in a while, they have to fill her breasts back up to their original fullness. It’s not just “water wears away stone,” but “even the hand touching copper will wear out”…

Unlike Rome, Milan, or Venice, which are always bustling, Verona—a small town by the Adige River in northern Italy—is quite peaceful, bringing a sense of tranquility and comfort. There is no shortage of ancient charm in the old town, where Juliet’s family house is located.
On the streets with many architectural heritage sites such as fortresses, bastions, public baths… of this neighborhood, almost everywhere you see tourists coming and going, surely from afar. Especially when approaching the house of Juliet’s family.
Until now, the love story of Juliet and Romeo continues to be one of the symbols of intense love. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, her family’s house used to welcome millions of tourists each year.
To meet Shakespeare’s Juliet, one must put in a bit of effort. The bus cannot get close to the house of the timeless lover; it must drop passengers off at a public parking lot in Verona. And the guests have to walk quite a long distance.
I remember walking, but in a brisk manner, meaning a bit fast. It still took a full 30 minutes to reach Juliet’s family’s house.
To enter the house of Juliet’s family in Verona, one must pass through an arched door, with walls on both sides densely covered with affectionate inscriptions from those who have visited, sometimes written over each other; written on paper and then pasted there. Some spots are scarce, but the pens are in abundance! Basically, they write: “Forever by your side”; “Our love is eternal.” But there are also single people who write wishing for their soulmate!
I intentionally looked to see if there were any words in Vietnamese, but there were too many characters, and my eyes couldn’t recognize them. My eyes had just undergone dry cataract surgery about three months before this trip to Italy and Verona. So, it can’t be helped.
