She had worked in food technology within bustling Ho Chi Minh City. Chal Thi came back not only for her aging parents. She aimed to uplift her entire Khmer ethnic community here.

Local coconut farmers struggling with low prices needed new hope. In 2020, she boldly founded Sokfarm, a pioneering coconut nectar company.

Sokfarm is deeply rooted in ancient Khmer traditions yet designed for global markets. Khmer families in Tra Vinh once harvested coconut flower nectar generations ago. Sadly, this valuable practice disappeared for nearly a full century.

Husbands and wives often collect nectar together cooperatively. This builds stronger family livelihoods effectively. Traditional Khmer skills gain new economic value. Sokfarm guarantees participating farmers stable income security. They actively help farmers achieve organic certification too. Meeting international export standards unlocks premium prices. The ambitious plan involves significant scaling up soon. Reaching one thousand farmers is the next major goal. Building a dedicated local factory will create many jobs. Up to five hundred new positions could open eventually. Tra Vinh province has vast coconut resources today. Nearly seven million coconut trees grow across its land.

This makes it Vietnam’s second largest coconut producer. Only Ben Tre province has more trees currently. Tra Vinh yields four hundred forty-four million coconuts annually. Most fruit still gets sold raw at low prices. This misses huge added value opportunities completely. Chal Thi’s clear goal is transforming this situation. She starts creatively with the flowers, not the fruit. The journey ends with high-end goods on global shelves.
